How Postpartum Rage and Anger Will Hurt Your Relationship

Postpartum rage is a less talked about yet a common phenomenon that affects many new mothers after childbirth.

Many new mothers experience mood swings and irritability, and postpartum rage is a severe and explosive form of anger that can lead to harmful behavior. Without the right support, this will have impact every other of a woman’s life, including her relationship to her children, partner, and herself.

It is essential to understand the causes, symptoms and treatment options for postpartum rage to ensure that new mothers receive the support they need.

You are not broken because you have a baby, and you do not need to settle for mediocre motherhood. It’s time to reclaim your postpartum wellness.

Causes of Postpartum Rage

Only when life feels unbearable do we stop for a single second to incorporate a quick fix, just to return afterward to the busyness and chaos of life that created the need for critical care and support in the first place.

This lifestyle is the source of much dysfunction, dis-ease, and dysregulation.

Postpartum rage can be caused by a combination of physical, emotional and hormonal factors. The hormonal changes during pregnancy and after childbirth can result in mood swings and irritability. The physical changes and exhaustion from childbirth and caring for a new baby can also lead to postpartum rage. Emotional factors such as stress, anxiety, and depression can also contribute to postpartum rage.

Symptoms of Postpartum Rage

The symptoms of postpartum rage can vary from person to person. However, some common symptoms include:

  • Explosive outbursts of anger
  • Feelings of irritability and frustration
  • Difficulty controlling emotions
  • Feelings of hopelessness and helplessness
  • Physical symptoms such as headaches and muscle tension

It is important to note that postpartum rage can be triggered by small, seemingly insignificant events and can quickly escalate into a dangerous situation.

Treatment of Postpartum Rage

When you understand the inner workings of your body, you are able to apply more specific healing techniques that get to the root of your needs.
